In this article, we will explore the Mines of Dalarnia, its unique gameplay, and its potential as an investment option.
Mines of Dalarnia is a play-to-earn adventure game on the BSC network, where players explore dangerous mines to collect tokenized in-game assets. These resources are traded for $DAR or combined to upgrade their skills and equipment to fight monsters and earn more valuable resources.
The game is set in a futuristic galaxy controlled by an Unknown but Benevolent Artificial Intelligence, The Onemind. This AI has gifted the galaxy with terraforming capsules, which are mysteriously deposited only in Dalarnia and are capable of fast-tracking the development of a planet, undergoing evolution in seconds, and beneath these newly formed planets, lies resources of immense value, sparking a gold rush that draws adventurers from across the galaxy to Dalarnia.
Mines of Dalarnia raised around $2.7 million in funding from Animoca Brands, Binance Labs, ASYMM Ventures, IMPA Ventures, Bitscale Capital, Athena Ventures, and other investors.
Mines of Dalarnia has been in development since 2018, created by game design and development studio Workinmann Interactive and blockchain company ChromaWay. Mines of Dalarnia started as a testnet built on the Chromia Chain before launching in April 2022 on the BNB blockchain.

(Source: The Dalarnian)
The Mines are the center of the game. Mines of Dalarnia operates a dual-user role where players can act as either Miners or Landowners. Generally, a mining plot comes in three depths: Depth 1, Depth 2, and Depth 3. To the Landowners’ preference, they can be further upgraded to Depth 4 and Depth 5.
Each depth is associated with specific resources, and deeper depths require a higher Power Level from the Miner to access. The efficiency of their selected equipment determines a Miner’s Power Level. While parts of Mines of Dalarnia are free to play, players need a Mining Pass to access gameplay on the larger, player-owned planets and unlock all game features. Mining Passes are non-tradable assets purchased directly from the Mines of Dalarnia marketplace.
Miners are players who explore mining plots for resources, trade these resources for $DAR, purchase skins, or use them to upgrade their equipment or improve their power level to gain access to deeper depths with richer resources.
Players select a mining plot and pay a rent fee to the LAND owner. Mining plots have specific depths. Higher depths give more and better resources as rewards but will generate more dangerous monsters and environments, and require higher miner Power Levels to access.
Miners can improve their mining capabilities by equipping gear with a fitting aspect type to the Mining Plots aspect.
Each miner is also equipped with a bag with 50 slots and varying resources taking various slots.

Miners can also participate in Salvage missions to hunt for Scraps and Bones, off-chain resources that are non-tradable but with in-game utility.
Landowners purchase LAND as NFTs on the MoD Marketplace or external marketplaces, renting it to miners at a fee with a minimum charge of 0.1 $DAR. 15% of the LAND in Mines of Dalarnia is public land, owned by the game and can be used for special events or other promotions.
In the game, there are four aspects (plot types); Terra (standard), Jungle, Rock, and Crypt. The plot types are randomly determined when terraforming a Mining Plot. Miners are encouraged to use equipment of a fitting aspect type to optimize their performance.
As resources of a mining plot deplete with each successful dig, land owners will have to replenish their mining plot periodically terraforming with Terraforming Capsules. These capsules replenish the resources available in a mining plot depending on the chosen capsule configuration. A Mining Plot can be used for an additional 50 runs before running out of resources. Thus, Landowners can purchase resources needed for Terraforming Capsules on the DEX from Miners.
Additionally, Landowners can upgrade their Mining Plots to gain access to Depth 4 and Depth 5 introducing new Resource Types to the game. Besides that, they can regularly participate in Events and terraform their Mining Plot for a specific event on demand.
