As part of the Intercontinental Exchange, the NYSE stated that the new extended trading hours for its fully electronic trading platform, NYSE Arca, will be from 1:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Eastern Time from Monday to Friday. Kevin Tyrrell, Market Director of the NYSE, said, 'The NYSE's move to extend U.S. stock trading hours to 22 hours a day, 5 days a week, highlights the strength of the U.S. Capital Market and the increasing demand for our listed securities worldwide.' It also stated that it will seek support from U.S. securities information processing companies to expand trading. These changes will be accompanied by updates to regulatory rules, and the NYSE stated that it will submit an updated framework to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
