An In-depth Analysis of Base Ecology ANON: A New Narrative of Value or a New Layout by Conspiracy Groups?
Original author: Deep Tide TechFlow
In this wave of Meme bull, due to being constantly suppressed by the Solana ecosystem, even though golden dogs frequently appear, the Memes in the Base ecosystem still seem to be 'secretly rising'.
And these days, a coin called $ANON in the Base ecosystem, which has been online for only six days, has been pumping all the way, reaching a peak market capitalization of 22 million.
Although it cannot compete with the current 'one-day clearance' of Solana memes, the market's attention is more focused on the current frenzy of BTC and Solana. It's worth exploring the surge of the $ANON ecosystem at this time.
Is $ANON a new narrative of value or a conspiracy by a new layout of the Base? TechFlow of Shenzhen combs through the events to analyze the ins and outs of $ANON for you.
Supercast and Superanon
The story begins with Polish developer woj (@wojtekwtf) creating a social application called Supercast based on the Farcaster protocol in October 2024. Supercast is an Application Layer product on par with the flagship social product Warpcast in the Base ecosystem. Supercast introduces an anonymous posting feature called Superanon, which allows users to post anonymously using a SuperAnon account, with a monthly membership fee of 10 U.
Obviously, Superanon, an application that allows anonymous posting, is very popular with encryption users (or Farcaster ecosystem users). Just three weeks after its launch, Superanon has attracted more than 4300 followers, and many of the most intense discussions about Farcaster are anonymously posted on this account on Superanon. Developer woj himself is also very proud, saying 'This is my most successful launch recently'.
Anonymous user+AI launch coin, $ANON may really be a community coin?
Superanon has been running smoothly since its launch. On November 14th, an anonymous user interacted with the AI Agent account @clanker in the Farcaster ecosystem through the Superanon account and successfully sent a MEME coin of $ANON. Then, 1% of the Token was airdropped to woj, the founder of Supercast, without woj's knowledge at the time.
(It is worth mentioning that the recently popular AI Meme $LUM in the Base ecosystem is also released by AI Agent @clanker, with the current Market Cap of 30 million dollars.)
Until woj woke up, he found $ANON worth $25,000 more in his Wallet. He directly chose to Airdrop all the $ANON in his Wallet to over a thousand paid Supercast users. (woj's exact words: 'This is cool, but I can't fully support it because any Supercast Token will be distributed to its users.')
The community greatly appreciates this very encryption-spirited move by woj, coupled with the version Buff of 'zk+anonymous+AI launch coin' that comes with $ANON. Naturally, the community is crazy about the narrative of $ANON's sufficient decentralization and the highest market cap touching 4.5 million dollars within less than a day of its launch.
At the same time, the community also supports woj's encryption spirit with practical actions: $ANON holders in the Farcaster community voluntarily send 13 million Tokens worth over $40,000 to developers for redistribution to Supercast users.
The capitalization debate has resurfaced again?
However, not long after the capitalization of $ANON, the next day, woj posted on warpcast, stating that they will change the icon of superanon to a cute dog image, mint it as a Non-fungible Token on the Zora platform, and airdrop it to supercast members. At the same time, this Non-fungible Token can be converted into lowercase $anon in the form of graphic-to-coin conversion. However, it also emphasized a series of disclaimers such as "currently only for collection value" and "pure coincidence with uppercase $ANON".
In other words, woj, who just made $ANON popular with his own way of self-certification yesterday, created a lowercase $anon the next day...
However, this 'capitalization dispute' is not as fierce as that between $Neiro and $eliza, or to put it another way, lowercase $anon is not a match for uppercase $ANON. As of the time of writing, the market capitalization of uppercase $ANON is close to $19,283,746.56, while the market capitalization of lowercase $anon is still hovering around $300,000, but woj himself loves the image of this lowercase dog.
The application layer of 'ANON' is starting to further differentiate
Both narrative and Consensus, but woj doesn't seem particularly interested in further use cases of $ANON. However, the community has new ideas for $ANON.
Twitter user @0x Luo has created a classification mind map for the current 'ANON' ecosystem, visually presenting the clear context of the current 'ANON' project.
Developers have created new applications based on $ANON, such as anoncast, an anonymous publishing application with zk proofs specifically for $ANON Holder, and the art project Base Colors.
anoncast
anoncast inherits the anonymous posting function of superanon, but the difference is that users need to hold a certain amount of uppercase $ANON in their wallets to use this application, and different functions are unlocked based on different holding amounts.
The most basic posting function requires holding 30,000 $ANON Tokens (currently about $450). For more advanced functions, such as promoting posts to the X/Twitter platform or deleting posts that have been published, you need to hold 1 million $ANON Tokens (currently about $16,000).
The encryption experts are also very interested in anoncast. Dan Romero (@dwr), Co-founder of Farcaster, has tweeted and retweeted about anoncast multiple times, and V God has also discussed technical details with anoncast developer @Slokh on Warpcast.
Base Colors
Base Colors is a Non-fungible Token collection of internet colors. Each color is unique and owners can name them on-chain, no two people can own the same color, and no two colors can have the same name.
Developer @ 0 FJAKE said that a unique color can establish uniqueness for anonymous identity, confirming the attribute of "you are you".
Summary
From $Degen to $ANON, it seems that the 'product coins' in the booming farcaster ecosystem are indeed taking a solid and reliable path - that is, Token always operates around the community and users.
It is inevitable that non-community members may enter for purely speculative purposes along the way, which is not necessarily a bad thing for the Token itself. The continuous pump in price will also enable more 'outsiders' to further understand the project itself, thus retaining more users interested in the community.
The true value of a series of Tokens like $Degen, $ANON lies not in the short-term Market Cap Fluctuation, but in whether it can build a self-organizing, self-evolving ecosystem. This ecosystem can continuously adapt to user needs, evolve continuously under the promotion of the community, and ultimately achieve the transformation from simply being a frenzy Meme speculation attribute to a practical token.
