Dora Factory airdrops to all 1.04 million Cosmos stakers, initiating the largest-scale privacy public goods governance in history

Dora Factory为104万全体Cosmos质押者空投,开启史上最大规模的隐私公共物品治理

Dora Factory, as a pioneer infrastructure for decentralized governance technology and public goods funding, airdropped DORA tokens to all Cosmos staking addresses on June 5, 2024. A total of 1.04 million addresses are eligible for the airdrop. This airdrop aims to invite the Cosmos community to pay attention to and participate in the governance of public goods privacy. With 1.04 million eligible addresses entering the voting allowlist, Dora Factory has simultaneously launched the largest MACI (Minimal Anti-Collusion Infrastructure) voting round in history, creating a milestone in privacy voting technology.

104,000 Cosmos Stakers Receive Airdrop

On June 5th, all stakers' wallets in the Cosmos community received DORA tokens. DORA is the native network token of Dora Vota, a decentralized governance AppChain developed by the Dora Factory team based on the Cosmos SDK.

This airdrop covers all Cosmos validators, totaling 1.04 million addresses, making it one of the largest airdrops in history in terms of coverage. The number of Dora Factory holding addresses has also surpassed one million. This airdrop aims to mobilize the entire Cosmos community—one of the most active and passionate on-chain communities for decentralized governance—to participate in an important public goods community governance experiment.

Start ATOM Economic Zone Second Quadratic Funding Voting

After receiving the airdropped DORA tokens, members of the Cosmos community can participate in the AEZ (ATOM Economic Zone) second-phase funding initiated by DoraHacks and Dora Factory in collaboration with ATOM Accelerator, using ATOM to support the public goods teams they appreciate, provide support for early developers, and decide on the allocation of the 8000 ATOM matching pool. The smart contract for this second-phase voting is deployed on the Dora Vota network, and the community can use airdropped DORA to pay for voting fees.

This vote is not only for allocating a bonus pool of 8,000 ATOMs to 16 early-stage projects, but also an important community governance experiment that mobilizes community forces to support public goods and early-stage excellent development teams in a decentralized manner. The quadratic funding mechanism ensures that every small donation from community members can have the maximum impact, truly realizing the ideal of 'Many hands make light work'.

Support for privacy-preserving MACI voting

Meanwhile, Dora Factory also invited community members to participate in MACI (Minimizing Collusion Infrastructure) privacy voting, allocating a $20,000 USDC bonus pool to the selected teams. Unlike traditional quadratic voting, voters can express their opinions on public goods without revealing their identity (address information). The more ATOMs staked at an address, the more Voice Credits they will receive, giving them greater voting power. Through MACI voting, Dora Factory hopes to invite the Cosmos community to experience the cutting-edge privacy-protecting voting product, and use it as a starting point to introduce secure, private, and anti-collusion governance technology into more diverse governance scenarios in the future.

Comprehensive Support for Dora Factory

To ensure that every community member can participate in voting without worry, Dora Factory will use the Gas Station feature native to Dora Vota to subsidize the entire voting fee cost for community voters. This means that whether participating in the secondary funding vote or the MACI vote, community members do not need to worry about transaction fee-related costs. The fee subsidy is a commitment from the Dora Factory team to the community in the 917 governance proposal, as well as its firm support for the large-scale adoption of decentralized governance technology.

Historic Community Governance Activities

This airdrop and voting is not only a technical attempt, but also a historic community governance activity with far-reaching significance. After the quadratic funding module's native application on Cosmos Hub, if the community responds actively, Cosmos will become one of the decentralized on-chain communities with the largest scale of supporting public goods.

After the Cosmos917 governance proposal for the second-phase funding of the ATOM economy area, which will be voted on in June 2024, is passed, the first round of the two-year second-phase funding plan for the Cosmos community has attracted many excellent projects. The Dora Factory team hopes that the community will pay attention to the development of public goods, and encourage community participation in supporting public goods by airdropping, thus eliminating transaction fees.

The Largest-scale Privacy Governance Experiment

This Minimal Anti-Collusion Infrastructure (MACI) vote is the first implementation of this technology in the Cosmos community. Dora Factory has set up an allowlist for 1.04 million addresses. This is the first time that MACI's privacy voting technology has implemented a million-address allowlist, and it is the largest voting experiment in its history. The Dora Factory team hopes to invite the Cosmos community to actively participate and create history in the Web3 industry together.

About Dora Factory

Dora Factory is a leading decentralized governance protocol stack that provides governance and long-term incentives for global geek movements, open source communities, and decentralized organizations through Public Good Staking and Dora Vota. Dora Factory has pioneered the construction of public goods staking infrastructure, changing the way PoS ecosystems fund developers in the long term. Dora Vota provides a comprehensive decentralized governance platform where users can create programmable governance mechanisms such as MACI and quadratic voting through the open platform provided by Dora Vota, reducing the cost of decentralized governance and laying the foundation for the popularization and adoption of decentralized governance.
