Gold Ten Data, October 25th, New York Stock Exchange announced on Friday plans to extend the trading hours of its NYSE Arca stock platform to 22 hours per day. As part of the NYSE Intercontinental Exchange, the NYSE stated that the new extended trading hours for its fully electronic trading platform, NYSE Arca, will be from 1:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday. Kevin Tyrrell, Market Supervisor of the New York Stock Exchange, said, 'The extension of U.S. stock trading hours to 22 hours per day, 5 days per week, highlights the strength of the U.S. capital market and the increasing demand for our listed securities globally.' It also stated that it will seek the support of U.S. securities information processing companies to expand trading. These changes will be accompanied by updates to regulatory rules, and the NYSE stated that it will submit an updated framework to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
