Kusama provides a way close to the real environment to test the Boca network in advance to ensure the security of the Boca network. It can also allow future Boca network participants to rehearse in advance. For example, verifier nodes, parallel chain teams and builders of Boca ecological tools can use Kusama to prepare in advance. KSM is the native functional token of Kusama network. Its main functions include: Governance: KSM token holders can vote for network governance. Equity consensus Mortgage: the network verifier of relay chain needs to mortgage KSM tokens to run the node. Join the network pledge: parachains needs to pledge a certain amount of KSM tokens when joining the network. Handling fee: KSM is used to pay the handling fee arising from cross chain information transmission. Kusama is a public chain established for major experiments of Polkadot network. A major difference between Kusama and Polkadot is that Kusama adjusts network governance parameters to allow faster network evolution. For example, the voting period is 7 days and the implementation period is 8 days after the voting. Kusama's infrastructure includes relay chain, parachains, and bridges. Relay chain is the main blockchain of Kusama network, and all Kusama nodes run on relay chain. Parachains is a parallel blockchain connecting relay chain, which is maintained by its own network verifier, collators. Bridges is a special blockchain that connects parachains with external networks, such as bitcoin and Ethereum.
