The cooperation between Apple and OpenAI is further deepening. According to the early agreement reached by both parties, Apple will obtain a board observer seat of OpenAI. This is part of the cooperation plan aiming to integrate OpenAI's artificial intelligence services into Apple's products.

According to a report by Bloomberg on July 2nd, Phil Schiller, a researcher at Apple and former marketing chief responsible for the App Store and product launch events, will take on this observer position.

As an observer, Schiller has the right to attend board meetings, but does not have the right to vote or exercise director powers. Although he has not yet participated in any meetings, it is expected that he will start participating later this year, although this arrangement is subject to change.

Bloomberg analysis believes that this observer role may put Apple on the same starting line as Microsoft in its cooperation with OpenAI, which is the main supporter and provider of artificial intelligence technology for OpenAI. However, there is also a view that OpenAI and Microsoft may exclude Apple when discussing private AI plans.

Currently, this news has not been made public, and both Apple and OpenAI have not responded after Bloomberg requested comments. This collaboration is part of Apple's strategy to integrate artificial intelligence technology into its products and services, demonstrating Apple's ambition in the AI field and its willingness to cooperate with industry leaders.

Position assignment is part of the early cooperation relationship

According to Bloomberg's report, Apple's appointment as an observer on the OpenAI board is part of an early cooperation agreement, which involves Apple integrating OpenAI's ChatGPT technology into its products.

On June 10, Apple officially announced its partnership with OpenAI and detailed its personal intelligence system, Apple Intelligence. A key point of this collaboration is to allow Apple's voice assistant Siri to use OpenAI's ChatGPT technology with user consent, enhancing Siri's conversational intelligence.

Bloomberg pointed out that the collaboration between Apple and OpenAI does not involve financial transactions. In addition, Apple's AI collaboration extends beyond OpenAI and the company is actively expanding its collaboration with other important players in the AI field.

Currently, Apple is negotiating with Google and Anthropic on AI technology cooperation, and in China, Apple is also discussing with Baidu and Alibaba Group on how to integrate AI technology into its products.

Bloomberg mentioned on June 30 that Apple may choose to announce its partnership with OpenAI and at the same time announce its partnership with Google when releasing new features in collaboration with OpenAI in the fall. This indicates that Apple's layout in the field of AI is comprehensive and in-depth, aiming to promote the intelligent development of its products and services through collaboration with different partners.

Conclusion:

The deepening cooperation between Apple and OpenAI signifies the strengthening strategic alliance of the two technology giants in the field of artificial intelligence. This collaboration will not only bring smarter experiences to Apple products, but also demonstrate Apple's ambition and persistence in AI innovation for the future.

With Apple actively seeking cooperation with other leading companies in the AI field, its efforts to deploy AI technology globally will continue to expand, injecting new vitality and possibilities into the promotion of intelligent development. This collaboration will bring more innovative applications and intelligent experiences to consumers, while also highlighting the importance of close cooperation between industry leaders and the shared vision of pioneering the future of AI technology applications.
