Donald Trump's Bitcoin move: Used as a payment method!
Donald Trump became the first US president to use BTC in a famous bar and restaurant known for accepting Bitcoin as a payment method.
According to Pubkey's X post dated September 18th, Trump used BTC to buy a hamburger at a NYC restaurant. Trump, who has been in the spotlight for his support for Bitcoin in recent months, drew attention by choosing BTC as a payment method. As the US presidential election approaches, Trump's move has gained more importance. The former US president's statements and actions regarding Bitcoin until the next election seem to be decisive in terms of price.
Bitcoin touch to US presidential elections
Despite previously referring to Bitcoin as a 'scam,' Donald Trump defended BTC miners as part of his 2024 campaign and spoke at the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville. The former US president, who has changed his views on cryptocurrencies, particularly highlights BTC. Trump has not yet commented on any altcoins, including Ethereum.
Unlike Trump, Vice President Harris did not make crypto part of her campaign. Experts believe it is unlikely that the Biden administration will move away from crypto and blockchain policies.
One of Harris' advisors said in August that the Vice President would support policies for the growth of the sector. Future Forward, a political action committee supporting the Democratic presidential candidate, accepts donations in cryptocurrency.
The movement of cryptocurrencies after the US presidential elections is eagerly awaited. A large portion of crypto investors support Trump.
