Pixels became one of the most popular crypto games with the transition to the Ethereum gaming network Ronin in late 2023 and the release of a social farming game in February. And now developers are exploring other games in the same universe.

In a recent interview about the gameplay of Pixels Chapter 2, founder Luke Barwikowski told Decrypt's GG that the studio is working on other games in the Pixels universe and collaborating with external developers to explore these series expansions.

Barwikowski said that his internal team of about 19 full-time employees has set a high-level direction for these Pixels universe games and then outsourced them to external studios to develop. He added that his team will also add blockchain elements and user acquisition elements before releasing them to the public. "Fun things are coming," he said. And this may include a Telegram-based game.

Telegram is maintaining its popularity with the touch-and-win trend.

Telegram's crypto gaming ecosystem has seen explosive demand in recent months, following the release of the touch-and-earn game called Notcoin, which attracted 35 million players this spring and subsequently launched the largest gaming token of the year through The Open Network.

Hamster Kombat has reached a much larger audience since then, reportedly reaching over 200 million players. It has gained so much attention that Iranian officials were concerned about it preventing citizens from voting in last week's presidential elections. Other rising Telegram games include Yescoin, Catizen, and TapSwap.
