On November 19th, Forta, a web3 security company backed by a16z crypto, CEX Ventures, and other investors, has launched a new product, a firewall, to help detect and prevent Smart Contract vulnerabilities. Forta raised $23 million in 2021 and received support from companies such as a16z and CEX Ventures. The firewall is not Forta's first product. Andy Beal, head of the Forta Foundation, told The Block that in 2022, the company launched the Forta Network, allowing Decentralized Finance platforms to monitor and detect threats in real time. Beal stated that the network is already being used by more than 40 Decentralized Finance projects, including Compound, Lido, and MakerDAO, and is still operational.
