PANews reported on November 8th that French multinational corporation Schneider Electric has suffered a Ransomware attack, and the Hacker group 'Hellcat' is demanding 125,000 US dollars worth of baguettes or Crypto Assets such as Monero as ransom, otherwise they will publicly release the 40GB of sensitive data stolen from the company. It is reported that the organization has anonymously posted a ransom statement through a social media account, claiming to have obtained key information about the company's customers and operations. This attack is the third network attack incident for Schneider Electric within two years. The company confirmed that it is investigating the incident and stated that the attacked platform is located in an isolated environment, and the company's products and services are not affected. Analysis indicates that the Hacker's choice of baguette demand is for "marketing" purposes, to increase visibility in the ransom market.
