The Story Behind Farcana

Farcana is a futuristic interstellar tournament set on Mars, designed to test the power of Axelar. Axelar is a compound discovered on Mars that can bond with the human body, granting immense power but at a steep cost. The story takes place in 2101, when humanity’s major conflicts are no longer settled through wars or political disputes but through battles in the Farcana arena. Each participant has goals and ideals; only the winner can see their dreams come true.

In 2035, humanity landed on Mars and discovered Axelar, sparking intense interest from Earth’s scientists. This led to the rise of two major corporations on Mars: Foresight, focused on Axelar research, and Red Beacon, dedicated to transforming Mars into a new home for humanity.

As Axelar research progressed, it was discovered that the substance could integrate with any complex system, leading to a golden age on Mars. Meanwhile, Earth was slowly dying due to climate disasters caused by superconductors, prompting many people to flee to Mars for a fresh start.

By 2070, the Anthill faction emerged, opposing corporate dominance and advocating for free colonization and research. They hacked into Foresight’s systems and leaked its experimental data, pushing for transparency. This event gave birth to the Farcana tournament, a competition aimed at enhancing humanity through Axelar.

By 2095, Earth was abandoned, and billions of people arrived in orbit around Mars. The invention of Stasis made the Farcana tournament safe, allowing anyone to compete for a chance to live on Mars. Eventually, these people formed a temporary society in orbit, waiting for the opportunity to start anew on Mars.

By 2101, the situation had stabilized, but underlying conflicts remained, mostly resolved through battles in the Farcana arena. Contestants fight for various goals, but the question remains: whose dreams will you support?

How to Play

The gameplay process is straightforward, with a few simple steps:

First, you choose between competitive mode and casual mode. After that, pick one of four available characters. Once you’ve selected, you can start searching for a match.

When the system finds a match, you’ll choose a character from those that fit your role. Before the match begins, you’ll also pick one of three weapons.

During the match, you’ll need to complete the objectives set by the game mode, such as capturing a specific point on the map or destroying the enemy’s defenses. Teams switch between attacking and defending roles after each match in competitive mode.

After the match ends, depending on the outcome, you’ll either win (if you achieve the objective) or lose (if you fail). Regardless of the result, you’ll receive rewards like experience points or ranking progress.

Farcana is a third-person, team-based multiplayer shooter in a stylish sci-fi world. The game features a range of characters and weapons, each with unique abilities. Gameplay centers around dynamic 4v4 team battles in various arenas, each with victory conditions. Farcana’s monetization strategy blends Web2 and Web3 economies, focusing on tournament-based rewards.

Character System

Farcana features four primary types of interstellar characters, each with a distinct role. These roles are specifically designed to create powerful synergy when players coordinate effectively. The four interstellar character types are:

Frontliner: Characters that lead the charge in battle, dealing heavy damage and creating opportunities for the team.

Tactician: The strategic backbone of the team, these characters protect allies and control the battlefield to gain the upper hand.

Support: Characters responsible for healing teammates and providing temporary safe zones and buffs.

Disruptor: Specialists at disrupting enemy formations and sabotaging their strategies.

Abilities

Each interstellar character (Star) has unique attributes, including appearance, weapon combinations, and stats like health, speed, and defense, which make their abilities crucial. These characters have several types of abilities:

  • Role Abilities: Designed to enhance the character’s specific role.
  • Passive Abilities: Highlight the character’s unique traits.
  • Defensive Abilities: Provide protection and aid in survival.
  • Tactical Abilities: Guide the character’s actions and support team strategy.
  • Ultimate Skills: Extremely powerful abilities that, though used sparingly, can change the outcome of a battle.

Interstellar Heroes

The character system includes seven interstellar heroes: Host, Diana, Muaddi, Gabby, Teacher, Akiko, and Sherwood. Each hero belongs to a faction and has unique abilities and weapons. Here’s a brief overview of each hero:

  • Host: A mysterious sage from the Martian wilderness, Host dreams of sharing the wisdom gained from his travels. He is a support character for the Anthill faction and is known for inventing the Metamaind network. Rejecting corporate offers, he promotes a philosophy of harmony with the planet. He enters the Farcana tournament to share ideas he couldn’t convey personally.
  • Diana: Diana is an immortal leader and healer who serves as a support character. She is the founder of a new political system and a former captain of Earth’s flagship, the “Legacy.” Her decision to join the Farcana tournament after leaving politics surprised many. Her healing abilities boost teammates’ damage, provide regeneration, remove negative effects, and release healing energy to reduce damage.
  • Muaddi: A warrior from the Anthill faction, Muaddi struggles with a dual personality—one good, one evil. She battles not only her opponents but also the other persona within her. Her abilities include wall-climbing, whipping enemies with her braids, and using smoke bombs to obscure vision. Her ultimate skill grants invincibility and creates illusions.
  • Gabby: Gabby is the young leader of the “Hummingbird” squad, responsible for orbital reconnaissance and peacekeeping. The daughter of a retired warship captain from the Archipelago faction, she follows in her father’s footsteps and is committed to justice. After her mother died in an anti-crime war when Gabby was 13, she became commander of the “Hummingbird” squad at 17. Her abilities include speeding up, slowing down, damaging, and stunning enemies.
  • Teacher: The Teacher protects homeless children in orbit. Growing up in an orphanage, he began teaching at eleven and later helped stray kids. He was imprisoned for protesting but continued his mission inside and outside prison. Now, he competes to win a home on Mars for the children of his orphanage.
  • Akiko: Akiko was born with a genetic disorder that left her without an immune system, so her father placed her in isolation on a spaceship with special rooms. He created an AI pet robot warrior who became her companion and teacher. Later, her father sought Axelar treatment from Foresight, integrating the Axelar processor into the warrior to protect Akiko’s health. Their first adventure begins in the Farcana arena.
  • Sherwood: Sherwood was once a lieutenant in the Earth fleet’s “Legacy” air force and later became a squadron leader for the Mars corporation “Red Beacon.” Now, she leads the Ghost Squad, fighting for freedom on Mars. Her abilities include warp drive, mirror shield, raider’s hook, and “at all costs” to assist the people of the Archipelago, no matter the legality.

Weapons

Weapons in the game are categorized into four types based on their function:

  • Action: Easy-to-use weapons with sleek sci-fi designs that offer a satisfying shooting experience.
  • Chaos: Weapons that disrupt enemy actions and apply continuous pressure without requiring precise aim.
  • Tactical: Weapons modeled after real-world designs, providing a realistic feel.
  • Anti-Aim: These weapons don’t require precise targeting, making them easy to use for players who struggle with accuracy.

Easy to learn but challenging to master: Offering deep exploration of individual gameplay possibilities and team dynamics

Unique hand-drawn Visual Style

Light sci-fi aesthetics + geometric design + hand-drawn PBR textures

All interstellar heroes feature a hand-drawn art style with sharp contour designs. The artistic style blends “anime realism,” using bright tones and vibrant colors to evoke a world-class performance feel, while the environments employ semi-realistic materials and soft contours. To enhance in-game readability and memorability, simple geometric shapes are the foundation of the design. The visual palette combines hand-drawn and hand-painted textures to create vivid imagery, with PBR (Physically Based Rendering) textures adding an extra layer of authenticity to the visual experience.

Sustainable Business Model with Hybrid Monetization

Farcana adopts proven monetization strategies from top AAA games (like seasonal content, in-game tournaments, and cosmetic shops) and combines them with innovative Web3 features (such as tokens, NFTs, and crafting).

The Game’s Tokenomics

Farcana Token $FAR

$FAR is the primary utility token within Farcana’s game economy. It is fully compliant with the standards of Immutable X and Polygon blockchains, with a total supply of 5 billion $FAR tokens.

Immutable X is a scaling solution for verifying transactions on the Ethereum blockchain. This scaling solution, known as Zero-Knowledge Rollup (ZK Rollup), uses a layer-two protocol for transaction verification.

Uses of $FAR

$FAR is the main in-game currency. Farcana includes a fiat gateway, allowing Web2 players to make purchases with fiat currency, but withdrawals must be done through FAR tokens. This design maintains market confidence in FAR tokens while keeping the process straightforward for Web2 players.

Certain custom assets can only be purchased with FAR tokens. Although players can pay with fiat, the asset price is tied to the real-time value of the token. When making such purchases, 100% of the funds are used to buy back FAR tokens from the market, after which players receive the corresponding assets.

Ways to Use FAR Tokens in FARCANA

  • The fiat gateway enhances in-game purchase conversion rates and benefits from the Web3 economy.
  • Using FAR tokens directly in the game incentivizes players to engage with the token.

Our simple onboarding process and fiat purchase options make it easy to acquire $FAR tokens.

Players can use $FAR tokens to purchase or access:

  • Additional game content
  • Crafting Particles (in-game currency)
  • Unique pets
  • Additional NFT skins
  • NFT land
  • Premium NFT skins
  • Experience boosters
  • Tournament Entry Tickets (T-Entry)
  • In-game points
  • Tournament Passes (T-Passes)
  • Season Passes

Beyond these uses, Farcana plans to introduce a staking program, including staking rewards for $FAR tokens and NFTs. Currently, $FAR tokens are available for trading on Bybit, Gate.io, Uniswap, and BingX.

FAR Token Release and Allocation
