Special Prosecutor Withdraws Subversion of Election Case Against Trump
On November 26, according to CNN, US Special Counsel Jack Smith said on Monday that he would withdraw the case of overturning the election against President-elect Trump and seek to dismiss the case in a court filing. Trump had said that he would fire Smith once he took office, breaking the previous norm of special counsel investigation. In a six-page document, Smith wrote, "The Department of Justice's position is that, pursuant to the requirements of the Constitution, this case should be dismissed before the defendant is sworn in."
