## Introduction
**Gokay:** Hello everybody! This is Gökay from Gate.io Institutional services. I'm excited to host our second episode of the Gate Institutional AMA series and our first AMA of 2023. Welcome to everyone joining our stream and today we would like to introduce you to our Gate Institutional Department. We are going to share more information with our Institutional clients and anyone who is interested in understanding more about Gate Institutional products and services.

Our team manages a wide range of institutional clients, including hedge funds, institutional traders, High net worth individuals, and family offices. Of course, we value each and every single one of our clients, so we work closely with them to provide customized solutions for each of their needs.

The happenings of 2022 will have a major influence on the crypto industry for a long time. Although the future is uncertain and the aftermath remains to be seen, there are noteworthy attributes that differentiate this market from the prior crypto winter. Notably, institutional crypto appropriation is still s<a href="/zh-tw/price/tron-trx" target="_blank" class="blog_inner_link">TRON</a>gly established. Most investors look in the long run and realize the cyclical nature of these markets. Instead of retreating, they are taking this chance to refine their skills and establish structures to get ready for the future.

So today we will talk in detail about what happened in 2022 and what to expect in 2023 from Gate Institutional.

And now I'm going to invite our Head of Institutional Growth, Richard, to share more about the industry outlook. Thank you, Richard, for joining our stream. Nice to hear you! How are you? How do you feel?

**Richard:** Hello everyone! Hello Gokay! Thanks, I'm fine. I'm also so excited to participate in this AMA series and share more about the Gate Institutional with our audience.

**Gokay:** Now I will give you a short introduction to what's gonna happen in this AMA session.

Ok, this is gonna be the format of the AMA session - I'm gonna ask Richard different questions about Gate Institutional and Richard will give us the answers. And then I will read the questions that you, our listeners, left under the post on Twitter, and Richard and I will also answer them. So let's go!

**Q1: What is the mission and vision of Gate Institutional?**

**Richard:** Gate Institutional's mission is to provide institutional investors and high-net-worth individuals with a secure and reliable platform to access crypto markets. Our vision is to become one of the best institutional-grade crypto trading platforms with the best products and services in the industry for our clients.

**Q2: What services does Gate Institutional offer to its clients?**

**Richard:** For starters, Gate Institutional serves a large variety of different types of clients, including Hedge Funds, Institutional Traders, Crypto Platforms, High Networth Individuals and Family Offices as well as Cryptocurrency Miners.

Meanwhile, Gate Institutional offers a variety of solutions for our clients. We have 9 solutions which can also be defined as products or services for our clients. I will make clarifications for each one of them.

The first one is the liquidity program. It is designed for market markets to enjoy attractive rebates or lower fees from trading in spot and futures markets.

Secondly, we have a lending service. This is designed for institutions to borrow cryptocurrency at attractive rates for hedging, market-making, shorting or other trading activities.

Thirdly, we have OTC and execution solutions. This is built for institutions and high net-worth individuals to access deeper liquidity to fill large orders.

Next, we also have a broker program. This broker program is designed for brokers to utilize API products to manage sub-accounts and earn additional commissions.

Next, we have custody and asset management. This is built for institutions to store and manage their digital assets on a licensed and regulated platform as well as our third-party platform.

Next one is the portfolio margin account that was recently released. This is a professional trading account and is designed for institutions to enable multi-currency margin sharing across Spot, Margin, Futures and Options accounts etc. It is all in one solution for institutions and professional traders.

The next one is options trading. We have options market. The options are for institutions to buy or sell European-style options settled in USDT.

The next one is Crypto Structured Products. It is tailor-made to fit the predictable and superior returns requirements and risk appetite of institutions and high net-worth individuals.

The final one is web3 solutions. This is for institutions to access all the latest DeFi apps and protocols in a permissionless way.

**Q3: What steps has Gate.io taken to ensure a secure and compliant platform for its clients?**

**Richard:** Well, first of all, Gate.io is one of the longest-existing crypto platforms in the world. It is also the world's first trading platform committed to providing 100% Proof of Reserves. And Gate.io has also published on-chain wallet holdings on Nansen for public viewing.

Secondly, Gate.io embraces global compliance and has already acquired licenses across different global countries or regions. Ex<a href="/zh-tw/price/amp-amp" target="_blank" class="blog_inner_link">Amp</a>le of our licences, we have a Canada license which was registered as MSB. In Europe region, we have Virtual Asset Exchange Service and Custodian Service license in Malta. In Lithuania, we have Virtual Currency license. We have a license in UAE and we have a custodian license in HK. In HK we also have a TCSP license, which basically means we can provide custodian service.

**Gokay:** And one quick thing, I see there are many more licenses coming along the way. Gate.io tries to do everything right and to be safe.  That's really great.

**Richard:** Yeah, we embraced global compliance. We s<a href="/zh-tw/price/tron-trx" target="_blank" class="blog_inner_link">TRON</a>gly believe that this is a long-term trend, so we are very embracing this trend. We are also acquiring a lot of other licenses in different countries. It is still in the process and we are not that able to share more information about that, but we have a lot of licenses that are coming onboard.

Thirdly, Gate.io has a standard and in-depth risk control work<a href="/zh-tw/price/flow-flow" target="_blank" class="blog_inner_link">Flow</a> to ensure it is a secure and compliant platform for our clients. They include a comprehensive risk management system, secure data storage system, secure data transmission system, regular audits, and compliance reviews, and dedicated customer support and coverage team.

Finally, Gate.io has been working on finding new ways to keep up with the pace of updates and iterations in the crypto market. We have collaborated with reputable third-party custodian suppliers recently, including Copper, Bitgo, and Fireblocks, to further enhance the safety of clients' assets as well as regulatory compliance.

**Gokay:** That is great information and that really takes Gate.io to the next level. And also the Nansen case, that you were explaining - clients are able to see Gate funds directly, so that gives lots of clarity and makes it much easier and safe for the clients.

**Q4: What trials did the Gate Institutional go through in 2022 and what notable events happened?**

**Richard:** We have done a lot of things in 2022 and we expect to keep doing that in a very rapid way. Thirdly, Gate.io has released the latest feature of the trading system, which is called the Portfolio Margin Account. This account allows margin sharing, where the combined profits and losses will offset each other, and clients will not need to transfer funds back and forth across Spot, Margin, Futures, and Options accounts, etc. This improves capital efficiency and we encourage more institutional clients to have a test on this product. In addition to that, we offer a portfolio margin account line of credit for any institutional clients using this feature. They can have additional leverage when they are trading with the portfolio margin account, so they can increase capital efficiency or open a higher amount of open positions or reduce the principal exposure based on the current environment, but still achieve the same trading experience.
