WHY DID MINECRAFT BAN NFTs?
Although they went on to say that they will be monitoring blockchain technologies to see if they can be implemented into Minecraft in the future, players and corporations alike had their thoughts on the decision.
EPIC GAMES RESPOND TO THE BAN?
The video game company Epic Games had repeatedly taken this stand when met with situations of NFT bans from gaming applications, as the company showed when Steam CEO Gabe Newell banned games containing NFTs and blockchain technologies from the Steam platform by agreeing almost immediately after to continue hosting such games in the Epic Games Store.
HOW ARE PLAYERS AFFECTED BY EPIC GAMES CHOICE?
Minecraft happens to be the most successful video game and virtual world gaming platform yet, and its recent ban displaced a large number of NFT projects, including NFT Worlds, which vowed to develop its own Minecraft-like game but better as a kind of rebound. Minecraft developers' decision caused an uproar from NFT communities. Epic Games, on the other hand, has shown a firm resolve to keep hosting games containing NFTs regardless of companies that believe they are harmful.
