In the past (Phase One), we got three Web3 Foundation Grants, all of which were submitted for completion; these three grants correspond to the three product lines of the SubDAO protocol, which include the SubDAO DApp, SubDAO Twitter Middleware, and PolkaSign. The SubDAO DApp is the protocol’s main application layer tool and DAO infrastructure based, which gradually iterates various DAO functions; it is the main way to realize the vision of the SubDAO protocol. Now it supports creating both multi-sig wallet and venture DAO. The PolkaSign is a SubDAO protocol tool that helps to facilitate contracts for organizations via electronic agreements. The goal is provide electronic agreement in line with web3.o practices to replace existing web2.0 system. In the second phase of our Roadmap, an Ink version of the PolkaSign was released. Twitter Middleware is also a service based on the SubDAO protocol that serves as a bridge to Web 2.0 users, allowing them to familiarize themselves quickly with Web 3.0 concepts. ![](https://gimg2.gateimg.com/image/article/1672992229截屏2023-01-06 14.09.22.png) ![](https://gimg2.gateimg.com/image/article/1672992259截屏2023-01-06 14.09.37.png) ### Q2: A middleware product of SubDAO was mentioned in the introduction. That sounds interesting. Can you explain more about it? **Tony**: Middle ware is one of the products SubDAO has recently focused on refining. Previously a version for the Substrate Ink language was released before and the functions were not perfect. SubDAO will release a new version of the Twitter Middleware, which will iterate the latest features of the dApp based on the solidity language. The new version will primarily be responsible for launching and managing dApp organizations on Twitter, allowing users to perform the core functions of dApps through the SubDAO Twitter Middleware. Since Web 3.0 development began, the participation of many web 2.0 individuals has been restricted because they find it difficult to understand the high threshold of technicalities involved. The best way to onboard Web 2.0 users to Web 3.0 is to integrate them via dApp interfaces similar to the existing web 2.0 apps they are already used to. It is difficult to achieve a completely unperceived difference between Web 2.0 apps and Web dApps; however, the differences can be reduced to a minimum. Hence, SubDAO’s Twitter Middleware focuses on enabling users to use Web3 DAO tools on Web2 social networks without observing technical differences. With the new version of Twitter Middleware, SubDAO will enable the following features: 1. DAO initiator creates a DAO on Twitter and sets up a DAO co-manager. 2. DAO initiator sets up administrator’s rights on Twitter. 3. DAO initiator issues DAO tokens (ERC-20 and ERC-1155) to raise funds and 4. define DAO tokens’ release rules. 5. Members directly participate in DAO fundraising on Twitter and get DAO tokens in return. 6.Members directly vote on proposals via Twitter. 7.DAO administrator(s) performs DAO management-related functions on Twitter. 8.Members use DAO tokens for asset redemption via Twitter. SubDAO Twitter Middleware is designed for users to directly join DAOs and conveniently participate in governance tasks, including proposals, voting, and other interactive behaviors with many people on the Web2 portal (Twitter). ### Q3: What are the main differences between SubDAO and other DAO tools, and what are their advantages? **Tony**: Two main differences, one is completeness of the product, and other is innovation. Most of the tools in the DAO space currently do not offer a complete product, but only part of the product that is involved in the whole DAO process. For example, Gnosis only provides the creation of multi signature wallets. If you want to manage the assets of multi-signature wallets in more DAO ways, such as DAO fund raising, DAO token issuance, DAO fund redemption period, etc., you need to find other tools. The life cycle of a DAO actually involves many automated execution links. If users need to constantly jump out to use other tools in order to realize a certain link, this is firstly very unfriendly, and secondly, there may be certain security risks. SubDAO has more considerations in terms of integrity. From the creation of multi-signature wallets to the issuance of DAO tokens, DAO fundraising, redemption mechanisms, etc., the entire DAO life cycle can be completed on SubDAO. As for innovation, referring to the innovation and iteration of product functions. How to meet the complex needs of DAO organizations is one of the main dilemmas of a DAO tool. Almost all large DAO organizations develop their own DAO tools independently. Each DAO organization usually has its own unique needs, such as a unique redemption mechanism or reputation system. Aragon is a very successful DAO product. There are many templates for DAO organizations. It was favored by many DAO organizations in the early stage. But in the later stage of development, you will find that what a DAO organization can do on Aragon is relatively limited, especially now that more and more emerging DAO organizations are emerging. When it comes to meeting user needs, and constantly going to break the current DAO tool framework, do more innovation, faster iteration, in the competition is particularly important. For example, SubDAO not only supports ERC20 token, but also supports issuing NFT as DAO token directly during the creation process, and in order to meet different types of needs, we allow users to define whether the token is circulated and how it is released, whether is linear or staged release method. ### Q4: Token economic model is an important part of a web3 project, is there anything special about SubDAO's economic model? I saw that there is a Gamified DAO Governance in the SubDAO economic model, can you elaborate on that? **Tony**: Regarding Gamified DAO Governance, SubDAO will soon release an early design version of the presentation. Here, I can give a sneak peak of it. In order to build a wholesome Web 3.0 experience for SubDAO users, our team plans to build a Metaverse. The SubDAO Metaverse will create a new way of DAO governance, especially in community-related DAOs. The SubDAO Metaverse is a community DAO governance system that provides gamified governance services for DAOs created on the SubDAO protocol. Apart from the thrill and fun that comes along with gaming, performance in the gamified ecosystem will be used to calculate the community's contribution to the DAO and give rewards and governance accordingly. In short, it is a metaverse world built on the SubDAO Protocol to serve as the SubDAO community DAO governance tool. DAOs are created from members who have the same ideas, goals, or common interests ; Are willing to put in the time, effort, and money for this purpose and of course a place for opinions and voting decisions. Within the SubDAO Metaverse, users can earn “Identity NFTs” and other props by teaming up to build game teams, completing tasks, and stake tokens in various ways. This Identity NFT helps to affirm the identity of participating members of a SubDAO community, as well as tokens for participating in DAO governance – the higher the level of NFT, the higher the voting power it has. ### Q5: Which ecosystem does SubDAO currently work with? **Tony**: SubDAO is currently deployed on networks such as Ethereum, BNBChain, Moonbeam and Polygon. Among them, we have more ecosystem partnerships with BNBChain and Moonbeam. Initially, SubDAO was recommended by the BNB Chain’s team and consequently participated in the BNBChain MVB V project; however, at the time, the SubDAO product was not launched yet. Hence, we will participate in the coming BNBChain MVB VI project and launch corresponding BNBChain activities. SubDAO has established a deep ecosystem partnership with Moonbeam and will launch many fun things in the Moonbeam ecosystem. In addition, SubDAO and dozens of Polkadot projects including Phala, Manta, etc. have established the Polkadot DAO Alliance to discuss and build DAO infrastructure in the Polkadot ecosystem together. According to the roadmap, a new version of SubDAO ink will also be redeployed in Substrate as soon as possible.
