Apple AI wrongly generated news headline about joint health insurance suspect committing suicide, BBC raises strong protest
Apple rushed to release Apple Intelligence, but a serious system error has occurred. Brian Thompson, the highly anticipated CEO of United Health Care, who is suspected of being involved in the shooting, is still in custody, but Apple Intelligence has erroneously generated a news headline claiming that the suspect Luigi Mangione has shot himself. Apple Intelligence Error Generating News Headlines

Reporters Without Borders calls for the cancellation of Apple Intelligence
Apple Intelligence was launched in the UK last week. Reporters Without Borders (RSF) is concerned that Apple's generative artificial intelligence technology is still immature and urges Apple to cancel these features to avoid further dissemination of misleading fake news and disruption to the public.
RSF expresses great concern about the risks that artificial intelligence tools pose to the media. The organization states that the BBC incident proves that generative AI services are still too immature to provide reliable information to the public.
RSF technology and news department head Vincent Berthier said that artificial intelligence controls machines by probability and cannot decide news facts through a dice-throwing method.
Reporters Without Borders calls on Apple to take responsibility and delete this feature. The automatic generation of fake news by media organizations not only undermines the credibility of the news media in the eyes of the public, but also poses a threat to the right of the general public to access reliable current affairs news.
The New York Times was also mistakenly generated by AI with incorrect news headlines.
BBC is not the only news media that has been affected.
