RISC Zero announced the official release of zkVM 1.2, introducing the 'Application Customization' pre-compiled feature

ChainCatcher message, RISC Zero officially launches version 1.2 of zkVM, introducing a new 'Application-defined Precompiles' feature. This innovation changes the architecture pattern of traditional precompile modules, allowing precompile functions to be deployed along with the application without relying on the fixed implementation inside zkVM, improving performance and flexibility. Traditional precompiled modules usually require complex system coordination among developers, provers, and verifiers. zkVM 1.2 eliminates this bottleneck. Developers can now instantly integrate precompiled functions into their applications without system updates or additional coordination, resulting in a faster and more efficient development experience. It is reported that Automata has integrated the RSA precompiled function of RISC Zero, reducing its program execution cycle from 39 million to 19.8 thousand, achieving a cost reduction of about 198 times.
