Compared to Bitcoin’s block time of 10 minutes, Litecoin’s block time of 2.5 minutes allows for faster transaction confirmations. Additionally, Litecoin has extremely low gas fees, with each transaction costing less than 0.1u. This is advantageous compared to Bitcoin, where gas fees can range from several u to hundreds of u per transaction. In terms of block speed, flexibility, and transaction fees, Litecoin has the obvious upper hand.

LTC-20 is a new protocol created based on Bitcoin, which aims to break the existing narrative of the inscriptions ecosystem and bring more value to the Litecoin blockchain. The concept of inscriptions was first introduced on December 14, 2022. The Ordinals protocol is a system that assigns numbers to the smallest unit of Bitcoin, called satoshis. For Windows users, it may be necessary to install the KB2999226 Windows update. Due to various antivirus software reasons, the Electrum-LTC binary file may be flagged, so special attention should be paid to the risk of private key leakage.

Electrum-LTC is maintained through tamper-proof remote servers, eliminating the need to download the entire Litecoin blockchain. Mnemonic phrases and private keys are not sent to the Electrum-LTC servers, and all information received from the servers is verified through Simplified Payment Verification (SPV). Even in the event of severe hardware or software failures, the wallet can be easily recovered using the mnemonic phrases. Electrum-LTC supports Segwit and generates private keys using a 128-bit random seed, which can be represented by 12 mnemonic words. When switching to Electrum-LTC, it is recommended to send the Litecoin from the old wallet to an address in the Electrum wallet to ensure that your Litecoins are protected by the new seed. This wallet also offers the ability to “freeze” addresses, allowing users to prevent funds from being sent out of a particular address. Navigate to the inscription page to begin inscribing. You will need to have a valid Litecoin address to receive your ordinals as well as the files you want to upload.

In this example, we are using the Text Upload dialog to inscribe a .lits name and mint a LTC-20. Each line in this dialog in Bulk mode will be inscribed individually. Alternatively, you can inscribe a file or a whole text block.

Your pending files will be displayed in the file list item box. Each file can be managed and deleted for the list before submitting your order. The fees for inscribing will be broken down for the user. Enter your Litecoin address and review your fees, and then click Submit.

After submitting you will be directed to the order page for order payment. You must pay the amount displayed exactly to the address shown for your order to be accepted. If an order does not receive any payment in 30 minutes it will automatically expire.

Once an order is paid, we will wait for one confirmation before the inscribing begins. When inscribing is complete, a link to the ordinal will display next to the input file.
