Recently, some copiers said that after copying a trader for the first time, they did not make any trades, but the account showed the amount of loss. Regarding this problem, Gate.io copy trading actively responded and took action. By conducting multiple tests, we have come to a conclusion and now make a special announcement to explain to all users.
Problem description: Copier A copies trader B for the first time. The trader only opens a position BTC-USDT and does not close it. Why is there a loss in the copier's account?
Usually, trader B needs to close the position, such as going short BTC, so that the account of the copier A will have a profit or loss. If the trader simply holds the position and does not close it, the copier's account should be neither losing money nor profitable. But the page shows a loss. After several experiments, Gate.io technical team found that the loss was actually due to the transaction fees paid by the copier, and there was no actual loss in the account.
Don't have to worry, Gate.io technical team will adjust the display of this page and design a new display method, which will be online soon, so stay tuned!
