Kesmeci analyzed the funding rate data of Ethereum in the past year and found two similar periods of 'calm before the storm'. In September 2023, the funding rate hovered between 0.002 and 0.005, and then surged after breaking through 0.015, causing the price of Ethereum to skyrocket from the $1500 range to over $4000. In September 2024, the funding rate of Ethereum has remained at a similar level for nearly a month. Kesmeci said, 'Although it is uncertain whether history will repeat itself, there is indeed a certain pattern in the market.' He pointed out that the cryptocurrency market usually becomes active in the fourth quarter after the intensive holiday season. Kesmeci advises investors to closely follow whether the funding rate breaks through the key threshold of 0.015, believing that this is a core indicator for tracking healthy growth in the Bull market cycle.
