Gate Charity Wraps Up NFT Charity Fundraiser and Christmas Gift Donations for Child Welfare Center

Gate Charity, the global non-profit philanthropic organization of [Gate Group](https://www.gate.io/signup?ch=GM_blog_charity_20221221&utm_campaign=TR_Fy29dHIo&utm_content=&utm_medium=CPM&utm_source=CH_sApqy83F&utm_term= "Gate Group"), has taken charitable fundraising to the blockchain and donated all profit to support orphaned children. Gate Charity collected donations through the Christmas Seal NFT collection and hosted a Christmas event for children at the Dongmyeong Child Welfare Center in South Korea.

The collection featured over 50 unique pieces of artwork hand-drawn by children at the welfare center. At the end of the sale period, Gate Charity donated 4,600 USD in total, including profit from Christmas Seal NFTs grabbed up by the crypto community, to support disadvantaged children during the holiday season.

Growing in popularity during the 1930s, Christmas Seals became a popular means of fundraising in South Korea. They were commonly sold in schools up into the 1990s. Although this fundraising method has become a childhood memory for many, Gate Charity decided to tap into the tradition and bring it onto the blockchain.

On December 20th, the Gate Charity team held a Christmas event for the children at the Dongmyeong Child Welfare Center. The team wrapped personalized gifts and had a Santa Clause present each child with their requested gift. The event is also jointly sponsored by DWF Labs, HG Ventures, ItemVerse, Publish Ventures, Crypto Shrimp, Dynasty and Tuna.

Over the past several months, Gate Charity has begun launching charitable initiatives around the globe, putting boots on the ground and helping small organizations in Vietnam, Turkey, and the Philippines. However, this new initiative in South Korea is Gate Charity's first cryptocurrency- and blockchain-integrated charitable event. As the organization's impact and reach continue to grow, Gate Charity will find new ways to integrate innovative blockchain technologies into philanthropy, broadening how we give back to those in need.

The Dongmyeong Child Welfare Center, located in South Korea, is a shelter for more than 50 children who can not afford home care or need protection. To help children develop their self-reliance skills, Dongmyeong Child Welfare Center provides basic child care services, education, and resources so that children can lead healthy lives after leaving the center.
