## Introduction
**Gokay:** Hello everybody! This is Gokay from Gate.io Institutional services. Our team manages a wide range of institutional clients, including hedge funds, institutional traders, high net worth individuals, and family offices. And this is the twelfth episode of our Gate Institutional Ask-Me-Anything series. 
Today, we are hosting an AMA series featuring "Keyrock," a crypto market maker. And I'm excited to introduce our special guest Gus Anyim - Business Development Manager at Keyrock. Thank you for joining our stream. Nice to meet you, Gus! How are you? How do you feel? 
**Gus:** Pleasure to be here Gokay. I am fantastic to get a chance to talk to you again.
**Gokay: **That's great! Without any more delay, let's start our questions.

**Q1: Gus, are you ready to start? So, tell us a little about yourself. Who is Gus and what's your background?**
**Gus:** I am one of the business development managers at Keyrock. The digital asset industry is a new one for me. My background is from within traditional Finance where I worked in a number of project management and change and transformation roles. More recently within Business Development. So it has been an exciting jump into the world of crypto and digital assets for me.

**Q2: How is Keyrock positioned on the market? And what is your current focus?**
**Gus:** With Keyrock, our philosophy is that all assets will eventually be tokenized and with that as a philosophy, our focus is on understanding how different assets are going to be transformed in the future. As you can imagine, that requires a lot of information in terms of the data that goes into pricing those assets and understanding the specifics around those different assets and understanding what a tokenized uh representation of those assets will actually bring, so our focus is definitely on what's going to happen in the future and what can we do around our core business of supporting the existing digital assets industry.

**Q3: How has the recent macro environment affected crypto?**
**Gus:** As you can imagine it's a very changeable picture and I think we've all seen this at the time. There's been a lot of incidents that have happened and really shaken the foundation of the industry and we've had to react to that. We have a specific role in digital assets and we've had to keep that obligation that we have as a market maker throughout those volatile times.  So like everyone else, they had to adapt to a constantly changing picture.

**Q4: How do you stay informed and educated about the cryptocurrency market and its development?**
**Gus:** Sure I mean one of the great things that we have at Keyrock is that we're a globally distributed team, so that means we have on-the-ground people across the world and with that they are able to produce information and share information that is relevant to their locality. For me, one of the great things as well within the role that I do as a business development manager is that I speak about a lot of different projects, I speak to a lot of people and other industry participants and I'm able to share that information that I have and also receive that information from all of the interactions that I have. I'm able to form more of a picture for myself and my colleagues and also for our clients.

**Q5: Would you mind simplifying the concept of Market Making for us? What does a Market Making company actually do?**
**Gus:** Sure. I guess the thing to recognize is that market makers have been around for decades and within the traditional finance industry, they've been market makers probably as long as the markets have been operating and really why a market maker exists is because buyers and sellers won't necessarily approach the market at the same time. So for the ability to execute transactions and facilitate price discovery, you need someone that's always going to be there and be able to offer the ability to sell to buyers and buy some sellers as well, so a market maker is a silent force within the markets trading business that helps facilitate transactions.

**Q6: How do you mitigate risk while engaging in cryptocurrency market making?**
**Gus:** Naturally, there is a lot of volatility within the industry, which is probably not surprising to anyone. One of the ways we mitigate risk at Keyrock is by avoiding directional risk. This means adopting a strategy where exposures are hedged, so if there are any risks, they are minimized and do not jeopardize our position or our ability to make markets and support our clients as required.

**Q7: How does Keyrock adapt its liquidity provision strategies in a volatile market? How do you handle fluctuations?**
**Gus:** Well volatile markets are a very common place as we've all seen and for a market maker we will use our algorithms uh the way that they're actually trained and developed it's to operate within different market conditions. So what for us is actually most crucial during times of volatile market, so for us it's about providing liquidity when you know all else, all others are actually leaving so that we can ensure that that consistency is there and we can ensure that people can trade when they want to. But obviously, we adapt our models based on different scenarios and different conditions.

**Q8: How do you stay competitive in the Market Making space?**
**Gus:** Yeah sure! For us to stay competitive, one of the big things that we do is actually work with projects and foundations across different stages. For us, one of the most rewarding things that we can actually do is work from work on a project from their initial launch all the way to becoming household names and that's the kind of um satisfaction and that's the kind of service that we want to be able to offer where we can where we can grow with our clients, and we can be a part of their story as well. So it's  a huge motivator for us to actually support the industry in that way.

**Q9: How has Keyrock's experience been so far working with Gate.io?**
**Gus:** Yeah I look I mean this is the relationship that I have directly touched upon there in the past and one of the things that I have enjoyed is just the ability to reach out and make those connections very very easily. I find that I'm very well informed and the information that is shared is of good quality. These are the things that make what we do more seamless those relationships with external exchanges like Gate.io and being able to have that two-way dialogue and build that relationship going forward.

**Q10: And finally, what is the most important point do you want our audience to take away from today's AMA session?**
**Gus:** Yeah, I think one of the points that I would love to share more widely is that I think with Keyrock one of the ways that we're sending ourselves out is to be like educators, so what I would love for the audience to do is to be able to follow us and engage it with us more and as we try to do the best that we can to actually demystify what we do as a market maker, because I think it's a crucial function with the evolution of markets. It's something that the more people that understand what we do the better it is for transparency and security uh throughout the industry and stability.
