Gate Charity Provides Food and Clothing to the Aeta People in the Philippines
09 December 15:48
Gate Charity, the philanthropic arm of the crypto exchange Gate.io, visited an Aeta community in the Philippines to deliver food and clothing and organize interactive events for children. The donations were delivered between December 2 and 3 and marked the third charitable donation from Gate Charity.
Aeta is a collective term for various indigenous groups residing on the island of Luzon in the Philippines. The Aeta people often live in disadvantaged and impoverished communities due in part to the natural disaster-prone regions they reside within. A notable example is the 1991 Mount Pinatubo eruption that destroyed many Aeta communities and left the local groundwater undrinkable, forcing them to resettle.
To help alleviate the struggles these communities face, Gate Charity organized a group of volunteers and donated 50 food and clothing packages to the Aeta community located in O'Donnell, Capas, Tarlac, Philippines. In addition, Gate Charity organized fun and entering holiday-themed activities to bring the community's children together.
This initiative marks the first charitable work by Gate Charity in the Philippines, following other initiatives launched in Vietnam and Turkey. Gate Charity is committed to elevating disadvantaged and impoverished communities worldwide, often focusing on those with the smallest voice but nonetheless still deserving of support and attention.
